Choke Design Company is a group of people who are addicted to great graphic design. We believe in its power to communicate ideas, solve problems, and solidify brands.
We get turned on by beautiful typefaces and the smell of hot ink drying on 100% recycled paper.
We have arguments about gradients after midnight. We get up early the next day, post about Gap’s new logo on Facebook while the coffee’s brewing, then sketch 25 thumbnails for an outdoor board.
We make gorgeous screen printed posters for bands and get paid in tickets and beer.
We like to do it right. We have difficulty not caring about things. We have a subscription to Good magazine.
We read books with titles like “Design Matters,” “Visual Intelligence,” and “The Art of Client Service.” We’ve watched the film “Helvetica” more times than most kids have seen “Shrek.”
We’re also word nerds, shutterbugs, foodies, fanatics, music lovers, art appreciators, talkers, travelers, and generally curious people.
All of which we use as inspiration to create what we create: logos, letterhead, magazines, websites, annual reports, billboards, brochures, print campaigns, TV spots, trade show booths, coasters, textbooks, sell sheets, special events…you get the idea.

Choke Design Company was founded in 2008 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in a dark, cobwebby office on 2nd Street. We have since moved to a bright, less-cobwebby office on Front Street with a gorgeous view of the Susquehanna River.
